Boston 1739

Dating back to 1722, Captain John Bonner’s very detailed map had been much added to by the time of this edition in 1739.

Originally published by Francis Dewing, later versions after 1726 were much added to and published by William Price. Bonner was a seaman and shipwright, whilst Dewing was one of the first map engravers and printers in America, having been born in England. He was accused of counterfeiting in 1722, and probably returned to London.
